MPCL donated Rs. 2 million to PCESSDC, a Technical Training Institute in Daharki
Lt Gen Nadeem Ahmed (Retd), Managing Director – Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL), who is also the Chairman Board of Directors of PCESSDC, on Friday December 23, 2016 handed over a cheque of Rs. 2 million to the CEO of PCESSDC, Brig (R) Raja Ali, on the occasion of 17th BOD Meeting held at MPCL Head Office, Islamabad. This disbursement would help support PCESSDC in its efforts/initiatives for the fiscal year 2016/17; eventually gearing up itself to achieve self-sufficiency / sustainability.
Pakistan Chemical and Energy Sector Skills Development Company (PCESSDC) was incorporated as a non-profit public-private partnership on January 9, 2009. PCESSDC, through its programs, promotes, facilitates and provides education and training to a young and growing rural population in various disciplines of the chemical and energy sector in Pakistan. Its aim is to provide employment and invest in the productivity of locals for industrial development by establishing Vocational Education and Training colleges (VETCs), Technical Training Colleges (TTCs) and Management Schools.

As part of supporting the students who have recently graduated from the institute, MPCL’s management has approved outsourcing services of six TTC Students at Daharki Field w.e.f December 23, 2016 @ 20,000/- per month (excluding contractor obligations). These students will be on 3 months training at Daharki Field and a performance / suitability report will be generated after completion of the training. Based on the above evaluations, the qualified individuals will be taken on-board on full-time employment at Daharki Field. In total, 9 students appeared for evaluation/interviews, out of which 6 were successful.
Moreover, Chairman has been forthcoming in supporting 5 most (financially) deserving students with good academic record and has approved Rs. 10,000/month/student for 1 year. This initiative will be implemented from the Rs. 2 Million Financial Support (for PCESSDC), approved by MPCL’s Management, for Fiscal Year 2016-17. To date, MPCL’s financial contribution towards PCESSDC amounts to approximately Rs. 43 million, which has been utilized by PCESSDC’s management for various initiatives.
