Pakistan Day Celebrations at MPCL
Mari Petroleum Company Limited celebrated 80th Pakistan Day on 23rd March, 2019 with patriotic zeal and fervour at MPCL Head Office. Mr. Mohammad Aziz Khan Niazi* was invited to grace the occasion as Chief Guest. The Event started with the National Anthem, followed by:
- Tableau/Drama performed by the kids from Islamabad Model School
- National Songs by the kids from SOS Village
- National Songs by the kids from Autism Resource Centre
Lt Gen Ishfaq Nadeem Ahmad (Retd), Managing Director, MPCL addressed the audience and highlighted the need for remembering our history and teaching it to our future generations lest they forget the sacrifices made by our forefathers to provide us with a separate homeland to lead our lives according to our beliefs with freedom.
Continuing with the past tradition, the Head Office building and adjoining areas were decorated with National and MPCL flags and illuminated with beautiful lights to commemorate Pakistan Day. The whole area was lit up in national colors of green and white, becoming a source of inspiration and heightening the patriotic feelings.
To commemorate the Occasion, MPCL Staff attended the Office in national dress i.e. White Shalwar Qazeez with Black Waist Coats/ Coats for Male employees and Green Dupattas for female employees.
*Mohammad Aziz Khan Niazi, transported Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah (Rahmat Ullah Alaih) Airplane from Peshawar Airport to the Karachi Museum. When the plane was delivered at the desired location, Mohammad Aziz Khan Niazi got to know it belonged to the Father of the Nation, therefore, Aziz Sahib refused to accept the agreed transportation fee.
