In view of spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) around the Globe and in Pakistan, MPCL Management has taken several measures for sustained operations of the Company and at the same time to ensure safety of its employees, their families and visitors.
Pursuant to these measures, in the first phase, all local and foreign travels as well as gathering of employees for meetings and other sessions were curtailed. Screening tests were conducted for the employees and their families. Several awareness sessions regarding Coronavirus covering topics such as origin and spread of the virus as well as preventive measures were conducted for management and non-management staff at MPCL heads office as well as all field locations.
NO employee of MPCL has been tested positive for COVID-19, so far.
In the second phase, on Monday (16-03-2020) the Company operated with a nucleus staff (most essential 15-20%), while the remaining staff worked from home, 30% of the non-management employees (non-essential) were also sent for two weeks mandatory leave. However, as of Tuesday, March17,2020 all staff is working from home, considering the spread of COVID -19 in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Several groups have been created such as HODs, Risk Champions, Departmental etc. for regular and effective communication via conference calls and MS Teams. Employees have been provided access to Official Email, SAP, ECM Portal, and Technical Softwares/ Programs (for geologists, reservoir and drilling engineers etc.) by the IT Department.
All these steps have been taken to assure that all operational activities including supply of gas, crude oil and condensates to downstream customers as well as all planned exploration activities will continue without any disruption.
