Mari Petroleum Company Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Akhuwat for the smooth implementation of “Sarbuland” an MPCL’s Initiative for Economic Empowerment. The memorandum was duly endorsed by MD/CEO Mari Petroleum, Faheem Haider and Dr. Amjad Saqib, founder and Executive Director of Akhuwat, at Mari petroleum’s head office on Tuesday, 9th of February, 2021. Senior Management representatives from both organizations were also present at the occasion.
The pilot project titled “Sarbuland” will be executed in Mianwali where Microloans will be disbursed to potential beneficiaries for economically viable entrepreneurial/small scale ventures, as verified by Akhuwat’s assessment team and the recovery period for these interest-free loans shall be 12 months.
Dr. Amjad Saqib, founder and Executive Director of Akhuwat, appreciated the initiative and contribution of Mari Petroleum to support underprivileged families and said he would like to see continuation of such joint efforts for building long-term and strategic partnerships.
MD/CEO Mari Petroleum, Faheem Haider congratulated Akhuwat on their great achievements and appreciated the contribution of Dr.Amjad Saqib on launching the largest interest-free microfinance program in the world. He added that MPCL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy is an integral part of company’s culture and reflects continuing commitment of the Company to contribute towards the well-being and quality of life of our society at large.
